Scope

e-codices' Privacy Policy applies to the e-codices – Virtual Manuscript Library of Switzerland ("e-codices") website. e-codices cannot guarantee that external websites accessible by links from the e-codices website comply with e-codices' data protection requirements.

Use of information

You may visit our website without being required to provide any personal details. Usage data, such as your IP address, the website you last visited, which browser you are using, date and time, etc., are recorded so that we can identify trends and improve our online services (cf "Data Protection – Google Analytics – Statement"). The data is anonymized. It cannot be traced to you and is not used to attempt to derive information about you.

Data Protection - Social Plugins

The e-codices website uses social plugins of the social networking site facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., California, USA ("Facebook"). The plugins can be identified by the Facebook’s logo (a white "f" on a blue tile). The list of Facebook social plugins and their appearances can be found on the facebook.com website.
These social plugins will connect your browser to Facebook's servers and transmit to Facebook some of your personal data (in particular, your IP address, your Facebook ID if you are logged into Facebook, and information about which websites you are visiting). Your information, once transmitted, will be held and used by Facebook in accordance with its privacy policy, which is accessible here. Data Protection - Annotation Tool

New users of the annotation tool are asked to register with their real first and last names. Furthermore, a new user must be able to be contacted via an e-mail address. Your personal data will not be made public by e-codices or by the participating libraries and will not be shared by e-codices.
